In hopes that Fashion Friday would be a fun way to feature different styles, it has also been difficult. I am no fashionista. I am not licensed in this area, nor has fashion been a top priority in my life. But a dream and determination are playing a part in this....
And that means kicking this frumpy-lazy-mama-look out the door!
If only Clint and Stacy from "What Not To Wear" would come rescue me. They would find my closet full of decent style. The only problem is that the video they would secretly tape of me for a week would show me in over-sized jeans, flip flops, and probably a maternity top that is just too comfy to give up (mind you, my son is now two and I am not pregnant). My closet has some pretty cute stuff but for some reason they go unnoticed. So I'm making a pact to make some effort here, and I hope if you are stuck in a rut you will do the same. Little changes can make a person feel great.
Looking good + feeling good go hand-in-hand.
Taking the time to put some effort into my look lifts my spirit. I wonder why I don't do it more often then! There's nothing like some make-up, a cute shirt, and hair fixed up to feel like I'm leaving my house with a purpose and walk a little taller (even if it's just me stopping to go grocery shopping...haha. lets just hope the day I make the effort is when I run into everyone I know).
So the other day I did something out of the norm about this fashion problem....and I will share that with you all next week ;) Stay tuned... I'll be pulling out my cowgirl boots for next week's post!

ReplyDeleteSo true! It's so easy to just be a slouch. I do it fairly often. One of the best things I did while being pregnant (and do now as often as possible) is get up, do my hair and makeup, and get dressed cute. It always makes me feel great! My husband loves me au natural which is awesome for me... but being a girl it feels better when you are put together. I promise I'll write up something with cute outfits for your blog! :)
ReplyDeleteI was doing pretty good at fixing myself up for a few months. Josh and I had a little routine going on... first thing in the morning we would bring the highchair in our bedroom with breakfast. I'd throw on a tv show and I could take my shower and fix my hair while Josh ate.
DeleteRight now, we are having issues getting him to sit in his highchair so I'm lucky to grab a quick shower if my mom is around to watch him.
Well I for one think your "frumpy-lazy-mama-look" is still stunning. :)
ReplyDeleteBefore I knew who posted this I was about to say "ooh, there's a creep on my blog!" haha. Well, glad you (my hubby) take me with or without the fashion/makeup.
DeleteYou know what I feel you and agree! I feel so much better when I take time to do me up but it takes so much time...lol. I work nights and I tell myself that I am not going anywhere today...the other day I did my hair and my husband ask me if I had a weave. I looked at him so strange and he said well I don't know I don't see your hair much...now that is pitifull / lol

haha. i can totally relate. Husbands don't know what to do or say when your hair is actually fixed for once. They know something looks different but can never pinpoint it unless you specifically say you changed your hair.
DeleteLove those boots! Visiting from the giveaway!
